The Nanjing Agricultural University History Museum tells the story of the people and events that shaped today's NAU. Located on the ground floor of the Yuguang Building on the main Weigang campus, the 800 square-meter exhibition space was originally established in 2012 as the Alumni Museum and then rededicated in 2020 as the NAU History Museum. Annual attendance averages over 5,000, drawing local and international visitors including government leaders, eminent scholars as well as current and alumni members of the NAU community. The director of the museum is Chen Fadi of the NAU College of Horticulture and currently serving as president of the university
Visitors touring the three galleries of the museum can follow a timeline of the school's history, learn about the pivotal role the university has played in modern agricultural science and education in China, and finally be introduced to the key figures and groundbreaking research that laid that foundation towards building a world-class research university centered on agriculture. Profiles of NAU leaders and distinguished alumni and their contributions to public service are prominently featured. In addition to historic photographs, visitors can appreciate displays of vital documents, research equipment, and other artifacts drawn from the NAU archives.
The NAU History Museum has developed into an important campus resource preserving the university's heritage, as well as building a shared identity and pride among the NAU community. As a cultural venue enriching civic life, it also serves the wider public as a showcase for the social and scientific impact the university has made for over 100 years.
